In roughly 3,000 middle-aged adults followed for about five years, those with higher biological age scores had more new tiny brain lesions like lacunes and microbleeds. This held true even after accounting for actual calendar age. The finding suggests that biological aging clocks could help flag people at risk for this common precursor to dementia and stroke.
